... not much around to do except see the scenery. We walked to a waterfall and stood in the cave underneath, the view was so nice! Our guide told us a bit about the modern history of China. Once back at the farm we had a mandarin lesson and also a lesson on the complete history of China (obviously very shortened). I am really keen to learn some of the language because it's so interesting. China's the first country I've been to where the majority of people don't speak ...

It took over 3 1/2 hours to get there, with the whole first hour taken up by trying to get out of the city! I didn't realise how enormous Xi'an is, and the traffic was very slow. On Friday, we took another wild cab ride to what they called a "canyon." It was really just a small river in a valley in the mountains. It was very beautiful, nonetheless. We had a long walk and saw a waterfall and some really great scenery. Charlotte, Sophia and I had a very good trip and a nice relaxing vacation from ...

I have made it halfway through the year. The end of August was the end of our semester at Aston, so I had a 12 day vacation. We decided to go to Shiquan outside of Ankeng, which is in the Qinling Mountains. There is a cave there and what they called a canyon (which was really just a river in a valley). It was great to get out of the city and see some nature. It took about three hours on the bus to get to ...
