    ... there a lot of mah jong played?
    Lots of people do play mah jong. It's not popular with the younger generation, but I always see groups of older folks gathered on the street playing mah jong. If they aren't playing mah jong, then it's Chinese chess or a form of poker that I don't yet understand.

    Are there traffic lights or do the cops direct traffic?
    There are traffic lights here, but they don't do that great a job ...

    We had to climb up 76 stairs to get to Kathryns unit. I was knackered after lugging the case behind me. The unit is quite Ok , just looks like a crack house from the outside. Kathryn has certainly modified her lifestyle that's for sure, she has a water dispenser which dispenses warm hot water which she thinks is OK to make tea, she has no kettle , so I am boiling the water in the microwave.     Another surprise was the extension of our old town, with many apartment blocks being built, and a few very high rise apartment blocks 20-storeys high. Previously, all apartment blocks were limited to six floors, which was the maximum height before you had to include a lift in the building.
