... Foreign Language school where we met with teacher from England, India and other speaking countries. That evening we went to see the kites wired with lights and flying in convoys (some of them) the others very large and shining with colorful lights. At this point the temperature was freezing with a ver low windchill factor.

... display at a big art exposition, which we attended later. The kids were very sweet and well behaved. They were working on sculptures of little creatures and they gave each of us a sculpture representing our zodiac signs. They were quite skilled. I got a cute rat.

Friday, we were greeted at the train station, early evening, by a committee. The six of us and luggage were driven in 3 different cars directly to a banquet hall where we were hosted and toasted for several hours. The table full of locals included Fan Yan, our paper cutter friend, the local C. Party Secretary, 2 school principals, teachers, administrators, financial experts and others.
