Partytime!

... Eventually we got up & ready & hit off for breakfast! We found a lovely little cafe beside St.Josephs Catheral. For breakfast, I had waffles & muffins & Broc had Pho & beer, nice! While we were there, the heavens opened & it rained for about 2hrs! it was so heavy, we couldn't leave, good excuse for more beer & juice! to be honest we did damn all for the rest of the day, just getting ourselves sorted with laundry, updating the blog, sussing ...

... given to me. He demanded another 10 dollars making it 20 dollars in total. What's more IO didn't even have the taxi to myself. There were two other Asian guys sitting in the back. I was annoyed as we left the airport. However, I should have been grateful that I even had a cab as by now the line stretched all the way back to the other terminal.

Within 5 minutes we hit the worst traffic I had ever seen in my life. Our Journey Through Vietnam

... it could be up to 1 hour but it actually took us 15 minutes and so we arrived before the check in was even open! The flight was a bit bumpy and we landed in horrendous pouring rain but managed to find our way to the airport bus for the trip to our hostel which Roger had booked at the airport. The room turned out to be a twin room, very basic, but as we thought we would only be there one night we thought it was adequate while we wait for our reply from Suvanna of OV.

First taste of 'Nam (bitter)

... Another thing we'd realised is that we believed we'd be in Hanoi for about four o'clock. We'd looked at the map and thought that we could make the width of Vietnam (not wide at all) in about 4 hours. This was a definite miscommunication between us and the lady at the Phonsovan bus station, and also miscommunication between us and the secondary driver, who we asked 'what time will the bus get to Hanoi?' in our best Vietnamese accent. The bus would eventually ...

... at 8:00 and looks like a street instead of an alley. I had a ham omelette with a large loaf of bread and tea. Bill had scrambled eggs with a large loaf of bread and tea. We used the internet at the hotel after breakfast because it is raining really hard. We decided to head out into the rain when it slowed down. The hotel loaned two umbrellas to us. I had to step into a puddle to get off the sidewalk and onto the street (motorbikes are parked on the ...

... to be there and that our 'upgrade fee' went straight into the pocket the staff. We grabbed a cab and headed off to our hotel only to find it all shut up and no light on so we got our cab driver to take us to an eatery. We immediately ordered Pho and tea and scoffed it as we hadn't had anything of any substance to eat since lunchtime yesterday. After cooling our heals for about an hour and a half we decided to make a move and head back to ...
