... nice! Now on the way to olieven to pick up some of the girls that are coming to Sowetto with us, in mikes pickup with jazz and beth, beth sat in the front so she doesn't get travel sick... Just picked the girls up and are now on the way, mikes struggling with the pickup hahahah so is Becky, trying to figure out over the walky talky what setting the car should be in or something, it's so hard with 4 cars we keep stopping and waiting ...

... She insisted she go with me to keep me safe. I then agreed and met her the next morning and ended up having a fantastic tour of the non tourist areas. I must admit, even with a local guide I did feel scared in some parts of town. We caught a local taxi and headed to Soweto. The four brothers kept on walking slowly and we kept on following. The Land Rover was indestructible, leveling small trees in our path. No worries Grandma, most were dead. Their bellies were clearly full and droopy. One lion dropped to the ground and licked it's recent scar behind his front right leg. He licked just like any ol' house cat. ... for the first night were at a very nice lodge with tastefully decorated rooms with thatched roofs surrounded by serene fountains in a courtyard, including decorative bridges and benches a mini-pool and tiny monkeys playing in the trees. I had an entire room to myself including an ensuite bathroom, a towel, soap and shampoo! What a luxury! I hadn't paid yet and was slightly worried they got the booking wrong, but when I paid they asked me what I was quoted and ...

... in, an elderly lady (I think?) grabbed me by the arm and dragged me inside, telling me she had something amazing to show me. A table cloth. “Ohhh you not like these? We have masks, bangles, earrings, cardigans”…am I that transparent?!? Each step I took however, someone else wanted me in their stall, asking that I “show [my] support”

So yes, all very exciting. Think I’m going to like this ...
