Our day started with an early morning wake up in sunny Madeira, then a short trip to the airport to drop off the hire car. Plane was delayed an hour, but no problems as we had plenty of time before our next leg. We arrived back in Lisbon airport and then waited another 40 minutes for the luggage to arrive on the carousel. No problems, we don't mind - patience is one of my better virtues, not says Leesa. Although we love this river so much we must start thinking about pushing on, so we left Alcoutin and headed back to Ayamonte. Being a Sunday and Spain, everything is closed so we took advantage of having internet connectivity and caught up on lots of admin and emails etc.
... lots of bashing on the transom, but at least when she turned and the tide was going out we got a rather peaceful mornings sleep.

checked the charts and found a nice bend in the river which should provide us with shelter.
The river, Guadiana is just so pleasant. In places it reminds me of Australia, with the
