We arrived at Mindelo on the island of Sao Vicente in the the Cape Verde Islands in the early hours of November 29. Our first impression was a surprise at how many yachts were here, both on anchor and in a well established marina. We were expecting a third world country but found a well established town with a mixture of modern shops and traditional markets.

We have cleaned, scrubbed, repaired and shopped ourselves dry and are now looking forward to getting the sails out and enjoying the sail.
