It was a long way to the old 'city heart' of Vienna, so we caught the U bahn (underground train). Arrived at the centre and just wandered around for about 90 minutes, and then caught the U back.

Had dinner just down the road from our hotel - a mixture of tourists and locals. It started raining just as we were about to leave. So much for the weather staying fine.

We viewed two intermission rooms: one very modern with Marble floors and a intriguing marble wall mosaic; and a traditional one with gleaming chandeliers, polished wood floors and tapestries displaying scenes from "The Magic Flute".

... walk away and we looked at the clock and we had 15 minutes to get there. The new shirts and deodorant were put to good use as the sweat level rose high again on that power walk. Briony should consider taking it up as a sport. We made it 5 minute late but they were still waiting for others!
