Tonight is the last night in Corsica. What a wonderful reunion (and introduction) it has been with the Angonno's. We were musing that none of us had much knowledge of Corsica and selected it as a destination somewhat on a whim. How fortunate our whims are so wise. This place is full of beautiful scenery and lovely people. ...

Today we hit the Corsican coast. It was absolutely beautiful. However the wind was just nippy enough to prevent us from frolicking in the water. But that didn't stop Nico from playing in the sand and Aunt Josie from taking a wine-induced nap on the beach. Then we drove along the scenic route to L'Ile Rousse and continuously had to lift our jaws from off the ground. The views were spectacular.

Once in Corsica we had another drive to reach Calvi. It was nighttime so we couldn't see much, but based on the elevation, large ...

... we want to scope out for dinner tonight. The road up to our hotel is very steep, steeper than most of the roads I have driven here and I'm not entirely sure I want to do it at night, so dinner locally is the way to go. The village is lovely, probably one of the nicer villages we have seen all trip, with a pretty little town square where the restaurant is located. There are some dramatic views down to the coast and L'ile Rousse from ...

... We park in town, do some exploring, go down to the docks, this is where we will catch the ferry to Nice on Saturday - another 6 hour trip, and have lunch at a pleasant restaurant. Roger had mussels for about the millionth time, I ordered a salad that I thought was something completely different to what it was. Turned out to be really nice - mussels and fresh octopus - not what I would order but I really enjoyed it. I struggle with the French menu's. In Italy, I can pretty much ...
