Dominion International Hotel Nadi

... to be very nice, but it's launching point for the Mamanuca and Yasawa Islands and so you get a lot of people staying there the night they arrive or the night before they leave. We had some dinner and a few beers by the pool, whilst getting eaten alive by mosquitoes and then we found a hotel with a bar right on the beach and had a couple more drinks there before getting ourselves to bed as we were up early in the morning to catch a boat! <br><br ...

... we headed along to a nearby hotel for some dinner, it was really busy, which was a surprise as everywhere else was either empty or had 2 people in it. It turned out it was the Samoan rugby team and they were in Fiji to play Japan in the Pacific nations cup. They were playing the next day in Sigatoka. We were sitting in the lounge having our tea, as there were no seats in the dining area, and one of the team came and gave us free grandstand tickets ...

... that my guard is up with these people right away despite there genuine friendliness.  We have a couple heavy backpacks that we were pushing on a cart.  As we went through the airport, many people offered to get us transportation, but I ignore them acting is if I know exactly where I am going.  I remember my experience in Peru where I heard about a German that was scheduled to go on a tour.  He met at the location and when a local person asked him if he has meeting the tour of such and ...

... beat the drum on the beach.<br><br>A guy from our resort would go out on in a boat between two islands (where there is a large channel that the mantarays like to hang out in) check to see if the mantarays are there and then come back to the island and bang on the drum to announce the boat is going out for mantaray snorkelling! We went out in the little boat and the driver pointed out the mantaray to us so everyone jumped off the boat into the water. It took me a minute or two to jump ...

... at the resort. Anglea and Kim have talked about making jewerlry out of coconuts for a little while and decide to get the tools out and have a go. They wander off down the beach to collect the required cocnuts whilst i sit and chat. Eventually they are busy out of the back of the main bar and we go to investigate what they are up to. I am determined not to get involved with jewelry making as all the girls get stuck in but am soon delegated jobs by kim and eventually I am out on ...

Muss aber ehrlich zugeben, dass no n paar Reitstunden wohl kein Fehler für mich wären....erwies mich nicht gerade als John Wayne des Reitens ;)! Trotzdem hats echt Spaß gemacht und Baba unser Guide war auch echt lustig. Nur den armen Pferdlis könnt er ma wenig mehr zu Fressen geben! Der Mittag war dann auch super cool! Genauer gesagt die Busfahrt von Nadi nach Deranau für ganze 70 Fiji-Cent ...
