I went across Milan today and organised to pick up my bike tomorrow, looks like a fine machine and I am excited about the trip, though the guy at the shop said they were expecting rain in the mountains...bugger but u do wot u gotta do. ... we went for a little walk down via Beunos Aries (street), looked in a book shop but all the books were in Italian. Strangely though the songs being played were in English. We returned to the hotel and enquired about a taxi booking for the morning to take us to the railway station. Unfortunately, the taxis will be on strike tomorrow leaving us the options of walking or catching the metro underground to the railway ...
At 10.00am this morning we travelled by train to Milan which took 1 hour 10 minutes. The train station was large but quite ancient and lovely. We then caught a taxi to the Hotel Sanpi. Decided to look around so caught the metro underground railway to central Milan and came across this most beautiful Cathedral called Milano Duomo. Magnificent. ... this time. We checked in to the Holiday Inn Express Airport, booked on the same awesome sale, which was another spacious property. After having a celebratory "last meal" of pizza from the hotel bar and meat, cheese, Coca Cola, and chocolate (lots of chocolate) from the grocery store, we got packed up and started the bedtime routine.
