Lazzaretto 1, Somma Lambardo Corgeno, Lombardy, Italy, 20019
... in Milan around 10:30 and I wasn't expecting how cold it was compared to Spain. I figured out how to get to my hostel where I would have to crash for the night before heading to my final destination Chiusi. I had to take a rickety old tram to the ghetto of Milan and walk a few blocks to find it. The place was pretty empty and quiet and actually kind of nice. They put me in a room with four beds and only one taken by a South American guy. I slept heavily that night.

Went for drinks at Frank's Bar which Patrick who owns the hotel recommended. Turned out to be a pretty trendy cocktail joint
where you pay for your drink at 1 place then get it at another. 10 Euro for a beverage no matter what you had so naturally I ordered a long island ice tea!!!
... a cool little wine bar/tobacco shop/lottery agent to have an aperitif and got to hear the waitress singing along to the radio in broken English with lots of made up words.
Had an AMAZING seafood paella at Osteria del Lazzaretto as well as the biggest piece of bruschetta I've had in my life! They also had half a litre of house wine for 4 Euro! Score!
... was a sight to see also....unmatched synergy of world's leading fashion designer label shops, eateries all in one, huge 4-way intersection shopping precinct, and all under cover of very high portico & frescos!
Next stop was the sprawling Castella Sforzesco, where we took 45 minutes strolling around the welcoming fountain, and thru the expansive main & side courtyards (Milan ...
... of boutiques, shops, etc, but for us, Changhi airport at Singapore has been the cleanest & most inviting to while away a few hours in!
After another 6.5 hrs in the air, we finally touched down late at night in Milan, Italy!
No challenges with luggage, so we proceeded to our pre-planned meeting point for pickup by a (well)paid ...
After Istanbul and Rome... even Venice looked dull .. so what do you say about Milan!
Though we did go to see the famous Leonardo Da Vince's Last Supper. For the nerds likes me, let me tell you that the painting is not on a canvas but on the wall of the church (don't remember the name of the church) ... the experience was Wow... it almost felt that you were having dinner with Jesus and his group .. its costs about 25Euro per person ...
... eternity in this airport." We desperately tried to contact US Air by phone, but since it was a Sunday, no one who had a clue was to be found. So, there we were. No ticket. Time to get creative. After briefly considering taking a bus or train (too slow and no guarantee it would be appreciably cheaper), we checked other airlines and found that everyone would charge about the same amount. We had no intention of rewarding US/Austrian, so we booked an ...
Prague, Czech Republic lambsFebruary 13-16 Monday was the usual, Italian, and Contemporary Italian Society. None of us really realized that we were starting a new History of Design class in the afternoon. That class from 12:00-1:00, then a hour break for lunch, then class again from 2:00-4:00. Monday's are going to be long from now on. But I like the teacher, he's not like our last one, but he knows a lot about Graphic Design and Industrial Design. Ps. Design starts in two weeks ...
