... the way.We headed back to the city centre and had to partake of the wonderful Belgian waffles. They are quite light and airy. Joanne managed to choke hers down smothered in hot Belgian chocolate sauce and rich ice cream and I had a simple caramel sauce.The Belgian chocolate shops are everywhere, and I mean everywhere. There may be 5 or 6 in a row on a street. In Bruges there are a number of chocolate shops but Brussels is just ridiculously inundated with them. ...

This is where our Brussels journey ends. After the Atomium, we went back to retrieve our things and head for the train station. The trip was amazing, and I am so glad we picked a lesser-known city to meet Jessie in because it made the trip all the more interesting and memorable.

I am sitting here on a train to Paris to meet my family for a week and a half of more awesome adventures, and I am just in awe ...
