      ... the buildings deteriorated so it has been renovated. There was written information as well as video footage of 're-enactments' of relevant parts of the history of the family and the historical battles fought.

      ... about determining who had the freshest liveliest langoustines,oysters and mussels. The blue lobsters were literally snapping and the shrimp wriggling and waving their antennae as they scrambled over piles of their brethren and we purchased a kilo of the pink crustaceans, and the mussels from Mont St Michel. Grabbing a couple of baguettes, more luscious desserts from the bakery we made a quick tour of stalls loaded with produce, shoes for 20 euros and fashionable shirts and dresses ...

      ... No one even noticed my departure. My husband arrived much later and collapsed in bed snoring, dead to the world. I had to move down to the other bedroom to avoid the noise and went back to sleep with the door shut.       ... to visit our friend Blanchette, she lives about 2 km from here and she always seems more than happy to see us. On our way back to the house we had to stop and admire the beautiful green spiky chestnuts that will be ready towards the end of September for picking.
