... dinner. The hotel here just serves snacks. So we walked a short distance down hill to a little Italian place. Eldon had pizza, it was not good. I had the tagliatelle with ragu. The market was lovely with local fresh artichokes, spring onions, favs beans and lettuces. We then walked to the Citadel and meandered around, visiting several churches ...

... our photos show). The traffic was extremely light since the west coast route is much slower than the east coast route and it was also May 1, a public holiday in France. We were able to meander along at our own pace and had no problem stopping wherever we wanted. In one place, we rounded a corner to be confronted by about a hundred goats making their own way along the road with no sign of a herder.
