Our intention was to find this beautiful canyon with swimming, canoeing and kayaking called Lake du saint Croix that we saw on the net that was at the start of what is called the Gorges Du Vernon.     It was very hot and we enjoyed a shaded picnic on a canope along the river below Pont Du Gard on the right bank. The aquaduct was very special as it has 3 levels and carried water in Roman days to cities of Nimes, Orange etc.

    ... Toured the town of Arles in the afternoon, amazing amphitheatre and the tour guide was a little to talkative. We were wilting in the extreme heat and he sat us all in the sun. Had a lovely walk around the town and he explained some historical things along the way.
