... shops and cafes and a number of well marked walking routes round about. The couple in the motorhome next door had a 7 month old dog and so its owner and I did a number of walks together. The little dog was sold to them as a West Highland White terrier but every one agrees that it is probably a Bichon Frisse, but it doesn't matter what he is because he is lovely and gets on well with Treacle.

... because we were mostly off the road on bike paths or on very quiet roads. Backside, neck, shoulders and wrists complaining loudly by now. I choose to ignore them and admire the scenery. They persist. Fortunately. The last 4kms of the ride involved iced water and a ride along a cycle path that wound its way beside the estuary to the hotel. We're up for breakfast by 7:30 and we seem to have a table for the tour group set up. Bags are to be at the van by 0845 and we're meant to be on our way by 0900. Well, almost, it is a holiday after all. One of our group broke her wrist some weeks ago and has not been cleared by her doctor to ride so she is doing the tour through a mixture of walking and riding in the van. Opposite the bunker was a fairly new cinema - so that worked out well....

... its bay are part of the UNESCO list of World Heritage Sites. It was amazing on the outside, very simple but beautiful on the inside. After our visit, we headed to Rennes and caught a train to Paris. (There is a much more stressful truth to this part involving more bad decisions on a travel day, poor French signage, and long lines at Europcar but I'll omit it here...
