Inside the town walls with its narrow cobbled streets lined with ancient houses, some built of stone and others half-timbered-houses, there are pretty squares and arches dating from the 13th to 19th centuries. In total there are 78 classified historic monuments in the town including the 15th century church of Notre Dame and the 17th century Town Hall. After a basic but tasty French breakfast, we set off for for our next stop, a town called Vezelay. We enjoyed the rolling countryside and got to Vezelay in good time.
It was a charming little town climbing up to the top of a hill clustered round a huge church. Our hotel was at the bottom of the hill in a charming square. It was all delightful.

Via the Gironde the Hymer hurtled! Joelle was turning a very youthful, energetic
and joyous 60 and Ramo and I extremely happy to be part of the party.

... strange really. Lazy afternoon then a wander off to the Cathedral to attend worship, we go at least 3. - 4 times per week at the moment! This one is in need of lots being spent on it but bigger than some of the French villages that we drive through. The structure has survived all the wars and still has lead light glass dating back to the early 1300's. Pizza and our bottle of Premier Cru at the local, not at the tourist joints, ...
