Another lazy day, again too drizzly to do laundry. We wandered into town in the afternoon for an explore along the canal path. Pretty trees and pretty peacock bushes led us to a floral bridge opposite the train station into the town centre. Looking back through the photos, it actually looks quite cute but, honestly, it was awful! Being Sunday, everything was closed and ************e was about but the few ...

The train station seemed to be complete chaos, and we had to pay for the first time for a bathroom (which Hannah said was pretty unclean). People were very pushy, and it was hot and muggy. Our hotel is cute, but no a/c and small European rooms. I think we will ...

Heading south to Chablis-Dijon today, we stopped at Troyes for lunch. Troyes (pronounced trois) is a rebuilt truly Medieval town which is being restored to its former glory. The mostly wooden buildings were burnt in the 1610s so was rebuilt using mud brick and stone but in the same style. We checked out ...
