We took a walk into the local village, Capmany, this morning, found the cafè/bar and got an ice cream and found the deli and got lunch, a nice walk around the narrow streets before we headed back to the site. After lunch we had a game of pétanque and chilled out in the sun. This evening we will pack up ready for our move tomorrow for the first of our longer stays.

We take the tunnel route that once again has been specially reserved for us, as no one else is in it and the view as we came out the other end was truly breath taking, so we decided to stop to make coffee and try to take it all in. ... in Isle sur Tete, GPL there too and on to Collioure. No change at Collioure, one gets what one pays for, a good stopover! Today, October 18th we walked into Collioure through the town and enjoyed the market, very colourful, a coffee on the sea front and a wander through the steep town enjoying the art on display. Reminiscent of Chefchaouen in Morocco but not entirely blue. Now we are getting to know the place then worth a return another ...
... water seemed pretty warm and we tried to guess what it was we settled on 23C, a January sea temperature in Oman. I went off to interrogate the life guard and was surprised to discover it was only 19C; it must have been a heck of a lot lower in Brittany. After swims and naps we headed home to make a birthday supper for Phil.
... seem with quiet a few shops closed. I think many of the French town centres are finding it hard to compete with the out of town shopping malls. The one we called in on going back was packed. We wandered around the streets, visited the Palace, which was free today as it was 'Heritage Day', and generally had a nice day being tourists.
