... behind our hotel that we would be tackling in the morning.

The path behind the place we were staying lead us up a gently sloping hill to the base of the mountain where we were greeted by close to a 100 people about to embark on the same journey and were waiting in line to purchase tickets to take the cable car to the top of Lomnicky Stit, which according to Wikipedia is one of the steepest in Europe. Auschwitz I was originally ...

... on a path made of big rocks. The view was amazing and the water was so clear and fresh. We even filled up our waterbottle on the hike up using run off from the mountains. Then we got the horse and carriage on the way back down the mountain. Then we got the bus to Zakopane and then to Kraków ...

    Seeking a Mountain Retreat

Tired of the blistering heat I make for the hills looking for some reprieve in a mountain retreat. No matter where in Central Europe you are in an alpine wonderland is usually a short journey away. The High Tatras rugged cliffs and trails for every fitness level draw hikers from all over. More of a winter ski destination a plethora of hikers usually congregate in the same area so if you ...
