Soporific Sopot

... are quite miffed that we passed without an offering of bread. Several people stride along the shore close to the water with walking poles. Hubby thinks they are cross country skiers practicing. As some of these people are quite old, I am not sure. More power to them. We sit at a café on the beach and have a drink. As the sun goes lower, the breeze picks up and it gets chilly. We choose to walk back ...

Deliciously Decadent Drink

... same chocolate. Oh heaven. This morning we headed directly to this café to check it out and to share with my hubby what a wonderful delicious thing this is.

While the Polish drink is not quite as decadent as that which I had in Croatia, it comes with so many more choices! You could get chocolate with coffee, with raspberries, with whiskey, Contreau, orange ...

... for pushiness. Forty minutes in the showroom without a single salesman approaching us. As there are many car dealerships, we are ready to leave when someone finally sees us and comes over to see if we want to buy a car. We have already been sitting in cars and kicking tires just to see if they notice us. He says, just saw you walk in the door. A line definitely or ...

Gdansk Revisited

... for once, I was allowed to take photos. Took a lot of photos.

Things close up in a hurry so that was the last museum we were able to visit. Next was the shopping part of the tour. Mary’s street, or St. Mary’s street, wasn’t sure which, is behind St. Mary’s church and has a ton of amber shops. I found a cute little necklace with a cat pendant where the ...

... br>If you're bored with visiting you can rest on the 5-star beach or go for a brisk walk on the pier.

The majority of people visiting Gdańsk come from Germany, although there are many people speaking Spanish and English, too. If you happen to find yourself near the Neptune monument, why don't you step in the IT office, located just in front of the Town Hall? The ladies working there are really helpful ...

... bakery and Don got an eclair, I got something that tasted like pizza bread with pizza sauce and cheese and they were very good. We checked out the crystal - beautiful, but I have no way to get it home. Poland is famous for its crystal and art glass. After about an hour or so of that we were done with being wet, my hair was soaked because I couldn't keep it inside my hood, my feet were soaked, and I was soaked. We headed back ...

... in Poland). Getting them with fruit (which usually comes in a very sweet sauce) is good but I have discovered they are a very difficult thing to eat without looking a bit foolish. You try to bit it but get whipped cream on your nose and face. So I say just embrace it and look like a fool. They also have these things called zapiekanki in Poland. Basically it's simple pizza toppings (tomato sauce, mushrooms and cheese) on a long bread roll that is ...

Gdansk and Malbork

... It was in Malbork that the stronghold of the Teutonic empire existed. The humungous castle is on the Vistula River and was amazing. We took a 4-hour tour of the castle and grounds; I paid particular attention since I am doing my thesis on the Teutonic Order in Poland. It was interesting to see the various renovations to the castle in with splatterings of baroque architecture. I was the official photographer for the class so I have amassed a ****-load of pictures from the castle.

Gdansk - Sounds Like The Pink Panther Theme

... their natural look. The snowy-white blonde look is in, followed closely by the burgundy red, and the jet black. The third? I must also say that the Polish girls smell mighty fine. Now before you get any ideas, I'm not going round sniffing the locals at close range. There is no need to. They seem to have a fine appreciation for perfume, and aren't afraid to use it, liberally. I am a fan of all things that smell good. Hence wet dogs are not one of my favourite things, but quality perfume is.
