This town has a specific feel and vibe which we pick up on very quickly ... we're in the heartland of a chilled surfing community but also a Republican area who value and support their troops.

... of us (Mike, Amanda and Erika) felt safer swimming around the bluff to get out of the water at the beach. It was a rough swim and a great workout, but we made it! We swam by the seals and even had a couple jump in and swim behind us for a while.
We nursed our wounds a bit, Amanda and Billy were pretty banged up, watched the sunset and then grabbed dinner at In N Out Burger. After that we were all ready to relax. We went home, got cleaned up and invited Mike over ...

... on a hunt for the Heritage Park and a Mission.
The park is to be a resting stop but once located we discover it is;
A) very small
B) is full of heritage buildings
C) is closed!
However as we are stood outside a friendly council gardener/workman opens the gate and lets us in, so we wander around the small park looking at the buildings and make use of the toilet facilities. We have also found some sunshine ... at long last ...
