... The true highlight of the evening was the restaurant that dad had booked for us a couple of months ago. The Michelin starred Don Alfonso 1890. ... we were on a huge coach which sometimes didn't even look like it would fit around the turns, especially when another car was coming in the opposite direction! There was a lot of beeping going on to let others know we were coming around the corner. Having a great driver though, we made it to Positano and stopped for morning tea and a group photo. ... which, apart from the fact it is much smaller, is quite different to Pompeii. It was only about 20 hectares with around 4,000 people, was more of a residential and resort area than a commercial centre and was right on the beach. Today only 4.5 hectares are visibly open as the new town butts right up to what has been excavated. ... good. The other was same olive oil and garlic combo with a ton of cut up porcini mushrooms, a definite homerun!

We finished up after the cooking and eating about 9 pm very stuffed but it was such an enjoyable evening, don't think anyone will ever forget our very welcoming hostess and the time in her beautiful kitchen. Will let the photos tell the story better than I can...

Got back to my "place" around 9:30 and finished my packing to start back home in the ...

We had 110 steps down to the hotel entrance which I went and investigated while Emma watched the bags. Hotel Miramare was the hotel and perfect it was.
