Borough Market is an awesome experience and it was jammed with hipsters who were purchasing everything from local cheese and produce to amazing breads and exotic (scary) meats. There is a hardcore coffee place across from Borough Market where there's one size and you wait about 20 minutes for your delicious and serious brew. It was yummy. One of our favorite parts of this place is you can ask for bread & jam and they give you a plate ...

Went back into London today with Alan's kids to see a few of their favourite places and get a local's idea of London.
After once again catching the train in, we made our way to Camden Town. There had been a fire in the market area since I had last been there, but the markets, shops and streets were just as crazily busy and colourful as I remember. We ...

... to see several friends that morning, but while James has known me long enough to realize I'm completely incompetent, Sam and Garrett haven't, and it seemed best to leave them with the illusion of a capable girl who knows where she's going in life and what she's done with her passport. Instead Alfie and I called in Gordon, Sophie and Tom. These are people who have seen me through ...
London, England, United Kingdom hammittHampton Court Palace is known as the Palace of Henry VIII, but it was used by many other Kings and Queens as well. We took the " Welcome Tour" to get to know the palace. Our guide was dressed in a period costume. ( We had met her when we went to the Tower of London. She does " interpretive history" at both places. She remembered us! ). Then we took the servant version of the " Tudor Tour". We ...
London, England, United Kingdom mshulist... Arms. We had some good food and drinks (Strong bow, hard apple cider, and Shanty, lemonade mixed with Fosters beer) and watched the semi-final football game. The atmosphere wasn't as intense as the Holland game because England is not in the tournament, but it was still exciting. Spain beat Italy, if you care. Her friend, Ben, met up with us at the pub and we got to know them a little bit better. Lucie was a ...

A bluegrass band, originally "Del McCoury and the Dixie Pals", they went through a number of changes until the band solidified its line-up in 1980's. Delano Floyd McCoury is the band leader, plays guitar and sings lead vocals along with his two sons, Ronnie and Robbie on mandolin and banjo, respectively. McCoury has had a long career in bluegrass and you can call old dogs the likes of him. In 1988, the "Dixie Pals" name was dropped in favour of the current ...
London, United Kingdom the_wayfarerHey, Today has been a busy day. I meet up with Lynn this morning at Embankment which was fantastic. It was so lovely to see a familiar face and to be able to catch up with her. She took me on a tour around central London to see a few sights. I know it sounds odd but despite being here for almost three weeks now I haven't had a chance to check out central London so it was just magic to see some of the sights ...it was the stuff of ...
London, United Kingdom lishinlondon... streets of London. What an amazing place! Crazy traffic and millions of people - we loved it! First stop was Trafalger Square and the National Gallery. Jenny and I were in love immediately - but the boys found our timetable a tad too pressing for wandering aimlessly through masterpieces. We held on though and Jenny saw her Van Gough and I my Seurat! Then it was on to the tower of London where alas we were too late - closed for the ...
