Barbara chose our lodging this night, and it was quite memorable. It was a 19th century palace built on land originally belonging to the Portuguese royal family. It neighbors ...

... several balconies in each area of concentration. Secret passages connect each room on the upper balcony to allow librarians easy access to any part of the collection. Here one can easily see the influence the university played when J. K. Rowling was creating Harry Potter at Hogwarts. Interestingly to clean the books a lift system beneath the library releases bats to remove the bugs that destroy old books.
