... we didn’t have a meal. Lucky for
my light-bulb Mum who thought to pack leftover food from Shannen’s 21st
birthday party the night before. It was delicious! This is Carolyn and
Shannen’s first long haul flight and Carolyn describes the experience as “****
house”. If 9 hours wasn’t enough, we had a 5 hour stop over in Kuala Lumpur and

... hands. Departing James Bond Island we made our way out to Koh Yao Yah Noi (aka small Yao island), which is predominantly an Islamic island just starting to open up to tourism. We stopped to have lunch at a restaurant right in front of a cool little beach and next to a resort called Vlliaguna Residences. We didn't get in this time, just snapped some good photos and laid out and enjoyed the weather. It was nice and cool with a good breeze and looked like a storm was going to blow in any minute..... and ...

We've arrived in Phuket, Thailand, and are staying at the new "The Senses Resort". Wow, very nice place, perched high up above and overlooking the city.

We have a day and a half before going to board the MV Pawara liveaboard diving trip in the Similan Islands, and I had plans to rent a car & drive around a few places. However, despite my efforts to book the car a couple months ago, it has ...

    Surf house

A travel blog entry by grickling on Sep 27, 2013

Finally we committed 2 hours to fast running water and falling over at Surf House. Once they had stopped playing the Robbie Williams and Oasis tracks, we felt it was our time to try and we learnt to be guided by the rope and instructors before being slam dunked at the mercy of the water. I was quite hopeless and need to try it again and hope that I can get to the point where it all comes together. Naturally Darryl was very good and they wanted to train ...
