We carried on to Clearwater Beach…the drive was just under 2 hours. We checked in at the Hilton, and even though it was already dark out, we know that this is a place we will LOVE!! We couldn't wait for morning to start exploring, so we headed out to Pier 60 (right outside the hotel!!), walked through a market, found a fantastic playground, and watched a bit of a free outdoor movie! So excited for the days to come!!
... but everybody was accommodating and let us in (since the temperature was hovering close to freezing). We got our passes to our Pasta Dinner for Saturday night. We fixed the missing race retreat ticket for Sunday morning for Alison. Finally, we looked into getting a first time runDisney half marathon pin for Alison and racers relations/will call.

... and wishing we had our winter beanies on. No rain though, so no problem walking around.
Disney is much more spread out on 47square miles! They have an efficient bus system from all resorts to their many parks. We all liked Epcot, the Animal Kingdom and the Hollywood Studios parks. The Magic Kingdom is all Disney princesses and Mickey & Minnie......and shopping -for a younger crowd!
Off to NASA and the Kennedy Space Center ...
... was meeting Mary Poppins. I think I was ridiculously excited!! Then off to Morocco, to meet Aladdin and Jasmine.
Finally, it was Test Track time. The boys built a car, and the girls built a car. Guess which one won?? Yep, the girls! Our purple car rocked!! ;)
We headed back into the World Showcase to get the most amazing spot for the Illuminations fireworks show. There was a little spot behind the Fish & Chips ...
... we wanted bar three when the heavens opened up. This was not some light rain and we ran for cover into the nearest Starbucks. After half an hour it was clear this wasn't going to let up and we decided to take the plunge (literally) in our newly bought ponchos into the rain and make our way for the shuttle.
The not quite watertight bus saw us keeping our ponchos on for the entire ride back to the hotel where we got into some dry clothes and went in ...
