Idling around Iqaluit
... and covering the area around the Peterhead Inlet. We’ve upgraded the 'keen’ wind of yesterday to ‘raw’ and with the temperature 2 deg Celsius lower than yesterday, the wind chill factor made it feel a lot cooler. We have not been able to carry suitable cold-weather gear so are having to ‘layer’ what we have and leave the flip-flops for use around the Lodge only!

At last in Iqaluit
... about a dozen or so people in the check-in and waiting area at any time, so we always have 'people watching’ to help us pass the time. A tiny gift shop cum café has kept us fed and has been a place to visit in times of quiet, however it is only open when the larger aircraft arrive and depart; the water fountain supplies our drink.
It has amazed us just how busy a hub this airport is! A travel review we read before coming here, concluded ...

We also walked quickly through the Inuksuk High School. Typical high school, but it was pretty crazy looking at some of the school photos. Classes are from grade 7 to grade 12 but it is so interesting looking at how the numbers of the classes changes as the students get older. Grade 7 and 8 classes are pretty regular sizes of about 20 or so kids, but by the time you get to grade 12 the numbers drop to about 8.
