Our family of 8 had a wonderful 7 night stay at this hotel. [after we arrived home we discovered an overcharge of $250 on our bill but, a few emails, later we have the refund and an apology ] The hotel is just 10 minutes from the airport, next door to a modern air conditioned shopping complex, a 10 min walk from the Hard Rock Cafe and across the road from Waterbom park. Our Private Garden pool view rooms were very central for access to pool, breakfast, kids club and restaurants. The rooms were very quiet and dark so easy to sleep in in the mornings. We were also given vouchers for complimentary drinks and spa services. The spa is a beautiful new building with a wide range of services worthwhile visiting for a look or a massage. The staff were very friendly and professional. We also appreciated that we were able to get a 4pm late checkout.

First days stay has been unfaultable. The bar service and the meals are both of a high standard.

Draft copy For some unholy reason, we got up early after a most blissful sleep in one of the most comfortable beds I've ever slept in. Though it's entirely possible it was simply because I was so tired. We joined the extended family for breakfast which runs from close to dawn, till 10:30. The food available seemed near endless. While the children …

... a doze before heading out in to Kuta; Bali's most touristy area which is close the the airport and has plenty of bars and beaches to keep people entertained. It was a short walk through some tight streets until we reached the coast road which was full or top rate hotels and restaurants to match. We stopped off in McDonalds for a quick lunch which is where we realised how many Australians were actually in Bali. We continued to the beach which is famous for its ...

... After breakfast we started the tour proper, taking tiny mountain roads to swim in the largest of the 3 waterfalls at Gitgit, then onwards to see the Ulun Danu Beratan Temple on the beautiful Lake Bratan in the Bedugul Highlands, we took the tiny winding roads have lunch looking out over the rice paddy field terraces at Jatiluwih, and finally feed monkeys in the monkey forest - a whistle stop tour from North Bali back south to Kuta. Thursday was a pj day - recovering from an early start and ...

On Wednesday, Loco drove us all around for a personal cultural tour. We started by driving up to Ubud to see a silver factory (where they make jewelery and such). Unfortunately, Loco forgot that the factory portion was closed down because it was voting day. Therefore, we just went into the store/gallery. There were some interesting things there, but being three scrubby-looking dudes, we felt very out of place. Obviously, we were not/did not buy anything (sorry, Emily).
