Our family of 8 had a wonderful 7 night stay at this hotel. [after we arrived home we discovered an overcharge of $250 on our bill but, a few emails, later we have the refund and an apology ] The hotel is just 10 minutes from the airport, next door to a modern air conditioned shopping complex, a 10 min walk from the Hard Rock Cafe and across the road from Waterbom park. Our Private Garden pool view rooms were very central for access to pool, breakfast, kids club and restaurants. The rooms were very quiet and dark so easy to sleep in in the mornings. We were also given vouchers for complimentary drinks and spa services. The spa is a beautiful new building with a wide range of services worthwhile visiting for a look or a massage. The staff were very friendly and professional. We also appreciated that we were able to get a 4pm late checkout.

First days stay has been unfaultable. The bar service and the meals are both of a high standard.

Draft copy For some unholy reason, we got up early after a most blissful sleep in one of the most comfortable beds I've ever slept in. Though it's entirely possible it was simply because I was so tired. We joined the extended family for breakfast which runs from close to dawn, till 10:30. The food available seemed near endless. While the children …

... love with Rosella tea. It's great for hypertension. I bought a pack to bring home. We ordered a Luwak coffee to share. For those of you who don't know what it is exactly here is my brief description: Civet's (cute little weasel like animals) eat these berries when they get red and ripe. These particular berries have coffee beans at the core. So they get eaten, and pass through the civet's digestive system and pooped out. Then processed and cleaned and prepped for consumption. ... I realised that it's the first time I've arrived in a totally new country alone and with very limited knowledge of the culture or food or language... Italy is western, I knew some of the language when I arrived and stayed directly with a family who eased me in to everything... Nepal was obviously a shock to the system but again, I was met at the airport and had a family to show me the way... I stayed with my great aunt when I first arrived in India but ...

Overall, my time in Ubud was very awesome. A great place to visit, and stay, as was evident by the numerous expats who have taken up residence here. A lot of people I met felt like they could live in Ubud. For me that wasn't the case, but I did still live it ...
