    ... had been declined. Had another go at paying our hotel bill in reception, but no joy. Then went to ATM and withdrew money no problem. Bulgarian visa card system is definitely suspect.

    So by the time we went out to eat, I was stressed as well as starving. Forgot to put lipstick on - that's how bad it was. Back to Plakomoto and lovely view for risotto and salad with a nice bottle of rose to settle our nerves.

    Another exhausting day on holiday!

    ... Jerry tried the cold soup (torrator????) like runny tzatziki in a glass to be drunk through a straw. How odd - it tasted fine, and I honestly think that if I ate it with a spoon, I'd like it. But couldn't get past drinking garlic through a straw. I guess I'm not ready for Heston yet!

    Then on to Nesebar via some 'interesting' seaside resorts. There really were some shockers - we were a bit nervous about where we were going to end up! I could just imagine workers in the Communist era being despatched there for their holidays. Thankfully, Nesebar is very different. Still commercialised, but with enough historical features and interesting buildings on narrow cobbled streets to be pretty.
