This hotel was really amazing, beautiful entry, amazing and comfortable rooms. The breakfast buffet included with the room is really well done. The spa, gym and pools are in great shape, lots of features and the prices are good. Wine tastings in the evening a very nice touch.

Pulling up to the Diplomatic, you know you're staying somewhere plush! A very grand entryway for a very grand entrance. We had a triple room with views of the Andes that blew my mind every time I looked out the window.

The bathroom was a clear cubical looking into the room but luckily curtains provided sufficient privacy. Nice touches in the room: good quality toiletries and lovely little biscuits left out for us in the living area.

Very comfortable. The staff were very professional and courteous and the daily wine tasting in the private tasting area was an especially nice touch. Even if you've been out all day drinking, always room for one more!

... the bikes to La Antigua which specialised in liqueurs, jams and chocolates. After tasting lots of varieties ranging from aubergine jam to dulce de leche with coffee we got to choose two liqueurs to try. I opted for a rose and orange infused one and a dulce de leche banana flavour, both incredibly delicious. The boys however went for the absinthe which left them feeling rather perky. We headed back to the hostel after another wine pit stop and a bit more food ...

Today there was a national transport strike in Mendoza - which means nobody could get to hospital, not us and not the patients. All buses, taxis, trams and trains all down. However Aliza and I were lucky because Dr Marcelo picks us up every morning to take us to the hospital. So while the rest of the work the world house enjoyed a lie in, we were ...
