This hotel was really amazing, beautiful entry, amazing and comfortable rooms. The breakfast buffet included with the room is really well done. The spa, gym and pools are in great shape, lots of features and the prices are good. Wine tastings in the evening a very nice touch.

Pulling up to the Diplomatic, you know you're staying somewhere plush! A very grand entryway for a very grand entrance. We had a triple room with views of the Andes that blew my mind every time I looked out the window.

The bathroom was a clear cubical looking into the room but luckily curtains provided sufficient privacy. Nice touches in the room: good quality toiletries and lovely little biscuits left out for us in the living area.

Very comfortable. The staff were very professional and courteous and the daily wine tasting in the private tasting area was an especially nice touch. Even if you've been out all day drinking, always room for one more!

          Viva Mendoza!

          Today is a travel day.

Two intercity buses, a short flight and the day slips away. Except for a small mishap on the bus to the airport (it died ) everything went well.

As there is NO personal space here, the solution is to take a full bus of 70 people or so and add them into.....another full bus, so we …

We woke up in the Diplomatic Hotel around 9:30. We were ready to leave at 10:00. We drove 20 minutes to Ampora Wine Tours. We arrived at 10:25, and our tour started at 10:30. We went to many private wineries and tasted some high end wine. The tour was 3 hours. And we were done at 1:30. We then drove 20 minutes to Bodega Lagarde, an Argentinean …

... first class passengers. Recalling some rather traumatic transport experiences in the past, I had purchased the most expensive ticket in the hopes of being as comfortable as possible for the next 12 hours. My god. Good choice. We weren't even past the governmental building, and the stewardess offered us hard candies. A few minutes later, she offered cups of Sprite that were colder than most of the refrigerated drinks you buy in the kiosks. The attendant spoke slowly ...

... almost all of which was from just the spray. We were expertly plunged into a few other smaller parts of the waterfall resulting in yet more exhilarating downpour. Luckily they provided waterproof bags for our stuff! This was definitely the highlight of Iguazu Falls for us and with the beating sunshine we quickly dried off. And with that we are now off back to Buenos Aires for the last 11 days of our trip where we hope to slip in a quick visit to Uruaguay...watch this ...
