I slept well though, as always here, and was able to eat breakfast at the hotel next morning before taking a taxi the short distance to the suburban railway station, from where I made the journey to the international airport, for my flight back to Gatwick.

I knew I could not stay long, so wandered along the jetty and back, then chose one of the cafe-bars with a large seating area and comfortable cushioned chairs, to enjoy a coffee until it was time to move on.
