... We discovered that the metro was finished so we had to get a taxi home. The first taxi we hailed, Eli was trying to explain where we had to go. The driver couldn't understand what he was saying so he just drove off! So rude!!! The next guy was ok. Eli typed in where we had to go on his GPS. He and Eli chatted a bit on the way back home. It was nice to finally get home and go to bed! I can't say that going up the Eiffel Tower will be a memorable experience!
... I love the view from the Trocadero. The golden statues lining the large open marble space. The fountains were on in the park - making lovely rainbows! This 324m high tower was constructed in 1889 for the World Fair and was the tallest building in the world for 41 years. We continued walking, under the Tower and through the gardens on the other side. We didn't join the 7m people which climb the tower annually. Last time I was here I walked up. I love the tower. ...
