A couple of good reasons for heading out to the far west are that we have never been to this part of Spain and this is the area where they produce Abariņo wine, one of Jo's favourites. Unlike the south this is very green as it is kept cooler and wetter by the Atlantic weather systems.

First stop was the supermarket in Vigo to buy some local wine. Yes you can do wine tours, and we have done a few, but if all you want to do is try ...

As a matter of fact for the next 2 hours the Camino went up! Had we not read the "flat" description for today, we would probably have not given it much thought, but our expectations were set. I thought how typical this is for me. My greatest disappointments are usually when my expectations are the ...

Cruise - Day 13

A travel blog entry by argyles on Apr 09, 2015

... At the end of the tour, I received a bottle of Cream Liquor in a ship-shaped bottle, which had attached "Britannia - Maiden call to Vigo 09/04/2015". After the fantastic excursion, we headed to the adjacent shopping centre and bought some local delicacies to take on board to try. As we headed to the terminal, local people dressed in traditional costumes were on the quayside to celebrate Britannia. The ...
