Barrea to Pescasseroli

A travel blog entry by heatherandjohn on May 29, 2015

Friday 29th May

We drove through Pescasseroli at the beginning of May when we were trying to find somewhere to refill our gas cylinder. At that time we found a petrol station that had the right connection to be able to fill it with the gas used in cars.

We headed to the same petrol station to get a refill but this time it was a big no no. The attendant indicated that it was illegal – oh well.

Two of Alex's friends have offered to let me stay the ...

I was called in behind the counter to process the paperwork and weigh etc. Then back into the queue to pay and prepare for transport. All seemed to go pretty smoothly. Will be interesting how it will be received by customs at the other end. Not a word of English was uttered to ...

Roma to Obi in the Parco Nazionale d’Abruzzo

Two days of Rome was enough. We may revisit the Vatican city on our way back if we feel we have missed out but right at this moment, we just want to escape the crowds and where better than the Appennino Mountains. There are still brown bear, wolves and lynx in this part of the country but our chances of seeing any are very slim as apparently they are very shy.

It's a national holiday so initially the drive from Rome is a nightmare. ...
