Friday morning also brought a visit to the Wolf Museum in Civitella Alfedena (the village we were staying in), as well as the Wolf Sanctuary, and all the kids favorite - souvenir shopping!

After lunch and a short recess, we boarded the bus back to Rome. It wasn't until our drive back that I realized just how much I had needed this trip for my soul. I'm loving Rome and have adjusted well to city life, but I am a nature girl at heart.

Back in sulmona. Car now getting repaired so with no car decided to go walkabout for a few days while weather hot. Thinking of going upto top of mountain tomorrow.... That will be an adventure...... This is a great little town. In the evenings the streets are full of families, couples, old dears, dogs, kids... all wandering up and down, shouting greetings to all and sundry. Both evenings we have been here we have sat watching the locals doing their daily constitution, and it is lovely to see so many happy people. Beatrice, the bar lady tony is so popular with grabbed me while walking past with Rosie and asked if tony could look at cooker for old lady. Went off in possey of old ladies to her house. Then he had to try to fix cooker with heard of women looking on.....after that Beatrice grabbed him and asked him to fix her washing machine switch.
