    ... we were up here i said goodbye to the three local dogs. We'd nicknamed one Smiley dog as it appeared to constantly be grinning, and when you gave it a fuss it'd get so excited it would wet itself.
    Having skipped breakfast in place of coffee, we returned to Afros in Acharavi. We had a massive brunch of seafood: calamari, whitebait, tuna fritters etc. and then said our farewells to Costas and Chris. I'm sure we will see them again.

    ... was only silence. We wouldn't be going round for dinner any time soon.
    My parents went out to IKEA to look at white ware so I decided to stay home and look into Istanbul. *************.
    Later that afternon we checked in on the house. The tiles downstairs have been laid and the place is really starting to come together. I'm jealous that by the time my sisters visits in July it will probably be finished.

    We decided to go and explore Corfu Castle, the older of two fortresses in the town. The fortress was huge, and had been in use for centuries. The British had built barracks here, and also a church in neo-classical style.We climed up to the light house on the top and looked out across Corfu town and the Mediterranean below.     ... case someone slipped and sent him rolling down the cobblestones.
    We watched the bands march through the town, finally congregating in front the Lindon cafes. Here they stood in the rain and played in turn, then marched back into the city. The whole occasion was watched over by a large crowd of Greeks, both from Corfu and the mainland, who braved the rain and cheered the bands. It was definitely worth getting out of bed for. ...

    ... the windmill and had one those awkward encounters you get holiday, with a German couple that we just kept running into. They're weren't our friends, but it would have been weird not to say hi. If we run into them again we may even have to start a conversation ! God forbid, thats every English person's nightmare. Ha !
