Well, fancy meeting you here!!

... we had caught up on news, we both set off in different directions, we were heading for Italy, and the Stelvio Pass.

Although we stll had the little job of Swiss postcards. We saw a little shop as we turned a corner, and popped in there. We had the rest of the Swiss francs, but we were 20 cents short, the lady in the shop was really kind, and let us off!! How nice the Swiss are!

photo, anyone?

So, Liechtenstein. the smallest country in Europe. We got stooped at the border, and asked for our passports, and what we were doing there. No problems though, and we were soon on our way.

We were almost immediately at the Capital city, Vaduz. We were definitely not going to miss the chance to do the postcards etc. So we looked for somewhere to park. We drove around a bit and ...

St Moritz to Glasgow

St Moritz-Bad in Switzerland was amazing, hard to capture on picture/video but did our best! One of my favourite spots so far.

Travelled back to Czech via Germany and Austria. Oh and into Italy for a day at some stage. I then headed to Glasgow to catch up with friends and Jarrad stayed in Karlovy Vary to train for his powerman in Austria this weekend.

Anyway will let the pics do the talking!

Hope all is good with you all

Olathe's sister city, Chur

... city (commune in Switzerland; they don't have the equivalent of counties, the next level of government is Canton, equivalent to our state) governement of Chur is a little different than Olathe's; they have three full-time politicians and a parliament of 21 (I think that's right).

We toured Chur, which is a beautiful city. I'm only posting a few pictures now, as the upload speed here is a little slow. I'll post more pictures later.

The Alps.

I climbed a mountain in the Swiss Alps. I whitewater rafted on the Rhine river. It was all amazing. All I could keep saying was "I cant believe Im here. I cant believe Im doing this."

There was so much to do in the last 2 days, and Im physically exhausted. Maybe tonight I can finally sleep, because Ive been habving some trouble with that.

More later.

I am literally ON a mountain!

... we had to begin right away on not much sleep. We toured downtown Zurich. Very clean, nice river running through it, lovely lake at the end, but fairly unimpressive in general. (unless I was just too exhausted to appreciate it's nuances, I dunno). Slept about 2 hours on the bus ride up here, then we were taking a language lesson (the practically dead Romansh), dinner, and a ...

In the mountains on the Bernina Express.

... of 1 in 17 or 70%, which allows passage without cog , on a special line-clamp braking system. This in a way adds to the trip as when climbing and descending the track takes amazing diversions and loops. Some within the actual mountains being climbed. Others. like the Alp Glum in quite tight W routes up and down. Most stretches are single tracks with passing places. Quite amazing how the time table enables two trains going different ways minimal time wastage whilst ...

A Quick Visit to Liechtensteins Ski Resort

Caught the bus from Vaduz Post for a scenic trip through Triesenberg and Steg to Malbun, Liechtenstein's ski-resort. Had a walk through the village past the ski runs and ice-rink to the chair lift to Sareiserjoch. Took the chairlift to the top of the mountain which gave us amazing views of the mountains and also the village of Malbun. We caught the chairlift back down to the village and then caught the bus back to Vaduz Post.

Sights of Vaduz!

After arriving in Sargans after a picturesque train trip through the mountains from Zurich we caught a Liechtenstein bus to Vaduz Post. The bus took as through Balzers and Triesen in the south of Liechtenstein before arriving in central Vaduz. We had bought a 10CHF Wochenkarte for the Liechtenstein Bus which gave us unlimited use of the bus system for a week. We walked up the main pedestrian street in Vaduz, Städtle, arriving at our hotel ...
