We've seen dinosaur footprints!
... It's hot and it's up hill, Caitlin steams ahead, while Harry and Lizzie moan. The trek is soooo worth it, we are still away away, but the sight of dinosaur footprints is amazing. unfortunately we didn't have time to drop down into the valley to get up close as we had to get back before dark, but the prints are approx 1.2 m x 0.75m.
We eat in the restaurant, chicken and salad, it's not fine dining but we've had worse in the UK.

Acordamos por volta das 9h30 e tomamos café com calma. Enquanto isso, nossos dinâmicos amigos já tinham saído e feito um pouco de turismo na parte antiga de La Serena. Eles disseram que há uma praça interessante e que a cidade é grande e bem bonita. Gostaria de tê-la explorado melhor.

Hitchhiking
... the miners where stuck under ground for a month). It was about 7 hours south so we jumped in. He was a nice old man. The roads were dead straight for 100's of KMS and the surrounding area was desert and sand dunes as far as the eye could see. About 5 hours in he pulls over at a truck mechanic and gets a warrant for his truck. After he gets it we have dinner at a road house with him. No meat pie and coke. We had chicken/pork and ...
2 Night Buses and a Border later...
... absolutely amazing - everyone here was buying crates of toilet rolls!! We crossed the border with no difficulties or delays. We arrived in Arica about an hour and a half later. Our collectivo driver was so nice, he walked us over and into the bus terminal and waited with us in the queue to exchange our vouchers for bus tickets. Oh and he was a very smiley man!!
We had a three hour wait before our bus and so we decided to try once again to get a sandwich ...
