A travel blog entry by jlmcclure on Oct 27, 2014

Up and about at 7am and after some brekky we took a taxi to Hauptbahnhof (Central Station), where we started our tour to King Ludwig's castle. It is believed this castle is the idea behind Walt Disney's Snow White castle. The castle is quite a way out of Munich so off we go. First onto a train with our guide and our 7 other tour people, all English speaking, good start! We were on the first train for about 15 mins and then we were all ushered off and onto another train for about ...

From the front of the inn you could look up onto the mountain and see Neuschwanstein Castle lit up and ...

... congregate at the better stops. On the way into Innsbruck Bern decided to do a side trip up to the ski jump that was built for the 1964 and 1976 Winter Olympics. Of course being up high it have us a fabulous view over the city. Coming down into the city, being a Sunday with not many cars around, Bern decided to "do a dodgy" and Mario stopped the coach and we all jumped off the coach for a real quick look at the Wiltern basilica. Zugspitz - the highest peak in Germany

... for about an hour and went to Garmisch for lunch. The soup is sour and salty tomato soup. Salad with thousand island dressing. Fish and potato (good). Chocolate mousse dessert is alright.

After lunch we took a train to go to Zugspitzplatt. In the middle the train slowed down for us to take picture of the Eibsee. Then we went inside a long tunnel ...
