It rained all night and we woke to a bright sunny day……….for
about an hour, during which time we managed to have our breakfast in the sun.
The clouds came back but at least without rain and so we jumped on our bikes
and set off into Solothurn town where there was a market on the go. Lots of

Today I have a day pass where I can go anywhere in Switzerland by rail or road but I am feeling pretty under the weather. Not wanting to waste the pass I took an easy option & took the 1hr 40 minute journey to Bern. I'm glad I did as despite being Switzerland’s Capital, not many cities have managed to retain their historic features ...

... so I had to move to a new hotel. The new hotel was absolutely beautiful and about 50 Euro's cheaper. The rooms were all modern, working wifi, and the breakfast was out of this world. I have now crossed off the Novotel in Freiburg from my list of hotels and The Best Western Premier Hotel Victoria is permanently on!

I left Freiburg a little early on Friday to make sure I could find my hotel in Basel, Switzerland easily. ...

... so I made a wrong turn and got lost so I had to resort to the GPS again to “point me in the right direction”. Back at the Hotel, I decided to buy an Internet Card for Ch$5 for 30 minutes, just to check E-mail. The cost seems a bit expensive, and it's annoying to have to pay for Internet as every other Hotel has provided it with the cost of the room.

I only have tomorrow to see the main sights of Bern, so I’ll have to get busy and ...
