... they wanted one with me, good laugh though and all saw the funny side, 4 photos later I get handshakes and thanks from all, so surreal. Goa is a lot hotter than Bangalore, 40-degree heat but the beach had a nice breeze. As you can imagine from that, I got burnt, real white boy problems. Got back to the hotel on the first day and parts of me were a little peachy shall we say. The evenings were pretty cool as well, the hotel had a Band Night on the first night and it ...

    ... going there.

From the market we wanted to relax and chill for a while, I mean, that’s why we decided to come to Goa on the first place! So we went to a beach up north, Morjim Beach. We ended up staying with Susie and Matthew for a few days in their house that was built by Matthews father. It's in kind of a forest area and surrounded by coconut, papaya and Jack fruit trees. Susie and Matthew, who are both very knowledgeable in the local vegetation around and how it can be used for different medical purposes, showed us around and pointed out black pepper, ...

... there was such a Catholic influence in India, but I guess the Portuguese were very influential in developing in that area.

We toured the country side and of course our guide stopped at a shop, with high end stuff and none of us were at all interested. Horribly high priced jewellery and trinkets. We are convinced that the shop owners are family members, or the cabby's get a cut on the sales thus they always take the tourists to the shops...much to our chagrin.
