Good Hotel opposite the Mater Hospital, the road outside is a bit busy but not too bad. we got the room for $149 on Wotif, so good value.

Sam and I arrived in Brisbane at 7.30am yesterday morning. After having a very early start we decided to just chill out at Dad and Laura's house for the rest of the day. The kids finished school at 3 so we spent the afternoon with them and went and watched Jo's Rugby training.

Today, we all (Sam, Dad, Laura, Jo, Bella, Rosa and I) went to Moffats ...

... beach areas. Unbelievable concept that the Perth City Council could perhaps incorporate in the Elizabeth Quay project. Again popular during the summer heat.

Similar to the Swan River where there are views of the city buildings, various bridges crossing the river ...

After breakfast with Smudger we made tracks towards Surfers Paradise. At this time of year in a wintry Berwick we usually spend part of the evening huddled together on the settee watching 'I'm a Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here' on itv. Some of it is filmed at the Palazzo Versace Hotel, an incredibly posh five star hotel on the Gold Coast and we always thought ...

... in Brisbane we decided to sponsor some rubber ducks for cancer research. There was 40,000 ducks floated along Brisbane river. We ate take away on the canal with an unreal view of the city, whilst drinking prosecco (we know how to live it up) Then we sampled Max Brennar's chocolate bar which is open till midnight and it is like death by chocolate! When Joe's day off finally arrived we decided to all climb aboard the Delightful Dorris and drove an hour ...
