... a sense of our time there. It was so calm and quaint and a nice respite from the crowds at San Marco. It felt like we had traveled to a seaside resort village. Oh, wait...we did!

When we returned from our quiet island visit, we headed through the crowds to the Jewish quarter to see if we could get in on the last tour for the day at 5:30. We tried to get to a restaurant that was recommended by our friend Jan to make ...

So it took some time to get ashore and onto the bus. It took about 15 minutes to get to the old town. It was absolutely packed with people, many like us who had to keep track of their tour leader. They were all trying to enter through the Pile Gate, ...

Today we set off from Zadar, Croatia for Venice, Italy via Slovenia and the Postojnska Jama Caves. A long drive again today but generally it's well worth the time spend on the bus. The Postoinska caves were discovered in the 1800's and lie up to kilometers under the earth. They are formed from limestone and its interaction with Carbon Dioxide. White is pure limestone and red and black colors are from interactions with other gases of which ...
