    ... and interesting route, we enjoyed it very much. We were amazed at just how much boat traffic is racing around at night, quite a lot of private speed boats, also spotted a couple of Polizia on jet skis, ha what a job!!!. On our second day we were keen to do something different, it was about 30 degrees and the beach was beckoning. We found that our ferry card would also give us travel to the outer lying island called Lido ( check it out on Google Earth). ...

    We swim upstream like salmon against the hoards of tourists to the refuge of the Arsenale district just in time to meet Tom's mom (Farmor) and Meredie his niece who are visiting from Paris for the day. First course of business? Gelato of course!

    ... the boats here. It took a little while for us to orient ourselves and find our way back to the boat station - has canals running through it too! However, we were not in a hurry, so did not matter.
