We got back to the house in time for Serena's party to start on time. 2 of her friends came over, 1 of them being LuLu, the adorable boy who came over for Halloween and KTV a few weeks ago. The other is a school friend, and I recognise her face from when I've gone to pick Serena up, but I ...

... line-height: 15.8599996566772px;">2 former au pairs who are currently in China for 1 reason or another also came along and they gave speeches too. There was also an au pair there from a different agency, with her host family. I wonder if this is the first time people ...

Not the weekend just gone, but the weekend before, my host family took me away. There was some slight misunderstanding on my part, I thought we were going to visit some friends of Ms Liang's in Suzhou, I understood that they were from Beijing and were having a short holiday in Suzhou.

However, when I got in the car, turns out we weren't going to Suzhou, we ...

... Chen that I want to rent a room in this village for the days that I don't teach during the week so I could learn Chinese. He looked at me like I was crazy. These people don't speak Chinese, they speak a local Haidan dialect which is as remote from Mandarin Chinese as French is to English. Oh well, maybe I will stay there every now and then. Sure beats modern China in my opinion.

Much more to come and this will be re-edited ...
