Well we have stayed in the Spanish Domain (@spaintoolong.com) and headed for the holiday isle of Majorca.

Well not sure if we will stay long..too many bloody tourists!

... about 20 years before and what we saw this trip reminded us of absolutely nothing. All new – only the Mallorca pearls were the same! It seemed they had somehow totally revamped the city into a swishy movie star kind of place with fancy busses and lovely architecture and appealing squares and exquisite shopping. And yachts! You should have seen them – miles and miles of yachts!

The fancier restaurant had what I call trashy high school kids running the place. The service (and the food) sucked wind. More proof that you can dress some people up, but can't remove the trashy persona.

The bus drivers sucked just like they did in Sitges and Menorca. Maybe it's a Spanish thing. The all need to get in a new line of work.

The tourist information office people in both Puerto de Alcudia and ...

... us swiftly to our first hotel of the day - Hotel Jaime III. As it was a last minute booking (as in August 2010) we should not have been surprised that it was double booked!!!!! We got as far as reception before another taxi whisked us to a nearby Marriott AC Hotel where a room was awaiting.
