I was up by about 10 am and the weather was absolutely beautiful - once again too hot though. I went for a walk around the neighbourhood and found a little shopping centre.

... At 10:30pm it was alight with flashing signs with Chinese characters and was bustling even late at night. I arrived easily at my hostel and went down to the harbour to see that magical skyline. It was fantastic, by now the temperature had dipped and there was a cool breeze across the water. I just sat down along with many others and starred at one of the world's great views. I could have stayed there for hours but I had to get to bed and get a proper night's sleep.

So 6 hours 30 mnutes after leaving Gatwick, we arrive in Dubai. Time: 0035 local time. Expecting a 9 hour stop over, I noticed that the boarding time for our connecting flight was 1205.....now i'm not great at maths but that isn't 9 hours from 0035! After consulting the departures board, it seemed we were due to leave at 0940....the time we expected. Not wanting to muck things ...

The entire interior is trimmed with gold and you feel like your in an authentic palace. Two ginormous aquariums are located on each side of the room, filled with tons of fish and other sea life. There were only a few mosques that were pretty but I didn't want to get off the bus because I was too scared. You see, a woman here is less than a man.
