... he'd do, except there isn't much of a view to enjoy because time and gravity (along with beer and deep fried foods) are unforgivingly destructive on the human body, especially when people don't take care of themselves. At 49, Pierre is considered a kid amongst the crowd here, which would make me a mere newborn; they weren't kidding when they said the crowd was older here. If cellulite were consumable by humans, there is enough here ...
Hua Hin, Thailand bebabui... for a while anyway. Family reunion was nice as well, even though it also naturally involves some inevitable downsides, like being constantly questioned about my plans to come home and graduate, as well as being forced to listen to my sister’s horrible Finnish rap music in our hotel room. A good thing about the time here was also that I had a good opportunity to read and hence prepare myself for my next destination that I knew embarrassingly little about, Burma.
Hua Hin, Thailand aerotrevelYesterday we negotiated Bangkok public transportation and found our way to Hua Hin via a 3.5 hour "air conditioned" bus ride. We're trying to meet up with our friend Dawn, but so far no luck.

Last night we went to the night market and went wild; I'm going to have a hard time not bringing all of Thailand home with me in my ...
Hua Hin, Thailand jenandjd... sight. at the end of
my trip I quickly recovered from the affects of the present, after of
course visiting the eye doctor on my vacation.

Geoffrey has
become my travel buddy. We plan on seeing all of Asia one weekend at a
time. While traveling with a buddy has it's advantages, it also has
it's disadvantages. Hua Hin, Thailand bronsenstoltz... Yes, the wind soaring through your hair on a steamy Bangkok afternoon is great and all, but the amount of exhaust fumes inhaled does at some point become problematic. On our third and final tuk-tuk ride during peak Bangkok traffic (I say this, but really, nearly every hour in Bangkok can seem to be peak traffic in this city), the burning in our eyes and lungs was nearly unbearable. Will someone please sell me a gas mask? I got 20 baht on it... I also began to think ...
Hua Hin, Thailand bgoode98We continue to work our way down the coast with our first stop being Hua Hin. Most likely to win the tidiest town award based on it has been the longtime retreat of Thai royalty. The town is constant on alert for the King, therefore it has clean streetscapes and groomed beaches.
Hua Hin, Thailand goodrichodysseyMani seemed enchanted by the idea of going to the same place where the revered Thai king holidays, and so the expensive Hua Hin was afforded a stop. The setting is pretty nice - golden sands, clear blue water and all that. For some reason, it is a favourite destination of German tourists and expats with every other restaurant serving frankfurters and huge glasses of ...
Hua Hin, Thailand petef1What I'm about to tell you is true. There is no exaggerating or elaborating to make the story sound better (I have been known to do this in the past). But before I get to the story..... We spent one day visiting the temples of Angkor, which were really, really amazing. Angkor Wat which is the most famous, is the largest religious temple in the world. The stairs are virtually straight up, uneven and signs are everywhere advising you that climbing is at your own risk. I did it ...
Hua Hin, Thailand rachaels... fine food, low prices, and a festive atmosphere. Many thanks to Mayor Nugoon who has done a fine job of promoting Cha-am by holding these events. The seafood festival is still a week or more away. I believe it's the second week of October. In the meantime, we've got ourselves a rainy night in Cha-am. I am staying indoors and making tunafish sandwiches. There is plenty of beer in the refrigerator. I am not afraid of the monsoon. Monsoon Shmonsoon. Bring it on!!
Cha-am, Thailand soidog... all for the enormous sum of 12 pounds per person per day. Use of the rooftop pool with separate Jacuzzi, fitness room with sauna and steamroom also included in the price. How can they make any money?? I always feel comfortable in Bangkok having spent years passing through, shopping etc., so when Kerry needed to get on with organising the next leg of our trip to Laos and Vietnam, I took myself off shopping, returning with 2 dresses I found on a street stall and had ...
