    Canoeing on the lake

A travel blog entry by johncowell on Aug 07, 2015

Today Ruth and I took a canoe on the lake. We wanted to explore it more close to the coast. It was great fun apart from the burden on your shoulders. After an hour of paddling, our shoulders and forearms were worn out. We then had a relaxing afternoon by the pool, followed by a last supper at home before moving on to ...

... at a most inopportune moment. When we arrived in Como, even I needed a strong drink. Como was very busy with people out shopping. The hire company had given us a map with suggested routes for our time in the lake. We decided to ...

So after a bit of an Internet search and a perusal of all the shopping brochures in the hotel lobby we grabbed a cab and headed to what we thought was an outlet mall - not so much! More an outlet shop which had some interesting bits but nothing seemed any cheaper than anywhere else Stephen did manage to purchase a fancy tie, but don't be fretting I will get to make up for my ...

Today's plan was to go by train to Lecco which is on Lake Como. This was Peter's part of the trip. He had travelled to a BnB that he thought we would all love to visit. Peter came here by car and I don't think he took into consideration we were travelling by public transport. We had our train tickets to Milan and when we got there bought our regional train tickets to Lecco at the machine. When we got to Lecco Peter rings up Pierluigi ...
