... was a lot of fun to talk to my tutor and his daughter. I fell asleep and didn't wake up until 10 on thursday. So I just got around, read my book, and stefania and I walked to the grandparents house again for lunch. It was delicious. We came home late so ...

... on the train to Venice enjoying watching the towns, mountains and lakes fly past. Even the rain that battered the train and the angry ocean couldn't make a dent in my excitement as we crossed the long bridge on our approach to Venice. It rained on and off throughout the day and for the last couple of hours our lazy strolling around the city quickly transformed into frenzied scampering from shelter to shelter as it began to storm. However no weather could ruin the beauty of this ...

... Villabassa (the German and Italian name for the town we're in this evening) our non-existent German. I (Karen) find it a positive - if awkward- challenge to be pushed out of my comfort zone each time I try to communicate with folks we meet or from whom we need something, and always a huge relief as soon as the communicating begins. Without exception, each person we've met, regardless of his/her English, has been helpful, friendly and ...
