... A three men group closed in on us but as they were with three we decided they were disqualified although they had to go through great length to overtake us. A second group overtook us by inches as Sunny and I called it a day moving aside the dock. Apparently German as they managed to put their kayak almost sideways on the shore cutting our streamlined navigation short. ("German parking"). But we felt we actually win considering the extra mileage. It was great fun. And that was the F ...

The rest of our time on the island was spent relaxing on the beach, swimming and of course eating and drinking although not as much as I would have liked as I picked up a tummy bug and wasn't feeling 100%. We also had dinner at Bophut Fishermans Village and at Chaweng Beach before leaving on Saturday afternoon to fly back to Vientiane.

... form of display of this nature could be used to defuse the situation. While the others, not myself posed in various hilarious positions I took the time to look at the incredible calming and tranquil sea lapping around the rocks, the blueness of the water was mesmerising. The horizon on the others hand was a dark intense grey meaning that another rain storm was on its way. Moments later a few big spots of rain appeared on the rock surfaces and we were all running for cover. We ...

... I heard a large cry and loud rustle in the trees above me, I looked up and saw a monkey staring back. I observed it for a short while, it lazily chewed on a leaf of some kind, inquisitively looking back at me. I gave it a nod and carried on with my chase. I caught up to them about 100 metres from the top, a few people at the back of the group were taking a well earned break. Throughout our ascent you had to climb in single file, I found myself in between Megan and a Chinese ...
