      ... fresh fruit.

Following a 19-hour journey by tourist bus and ferry, we made it to Ko Pha Ngan. Jason had been researching the best beaches on the island, so he led us to our paradise for the next nine nights, Haad Yuan, reachable by water taxi.

Haad Yuan is just 10 minutes by water taxi from loud, packed Haad Rim, the long beach on which the famous once-monthly Full Moon Party is held. Haad Yuan has a completely different vibe than its noisy ...

... bought our bus tickets for the hour long journey from Surratthani to the port with our train and ferry tickets, which is well advised. Once on the train the tour operator advised us to buy our taxi ticket for the transfer from the ferry to our hotel, this is not necessary as you can get a much better deal bartering with the numerous taxi drivers vying for your attention. Our hotel was situated at the end of the Chaweng resort, which was a blessing as the main resort of Chaweng is ...

I had, of course heavily researched it before hand and prepared for most of the threats that would face me on the beach, e.g. spiked drinks, muggings, ...

... I heard a large cry and loud rustle in the trees above me, I looked up and saw a monkey staring back. I observed it for a short while, it lazily chewed on a leaf of some kind, inquisitively looking back at me. I gave it a nod and carried on with my chase. I caught up to them about 100 metres from the top, a few people at the back of the group were taking a well earned break. Throughout our ascent you had to climb in single file, I found myself in between Megan and a Chinese ...

... have two zip up pockets, which is useful, plus they also fit! Paid 350 baht (probably overpaid by as much as 100 baht but the asking price was 450 so meh). Realised I only had 315 baht on me so went to an ATM, took out 10,000 baht (I have come to the conclusion I will not be robbed and large withdrawals make the 150 baht set withdrawal fee more bearable). Returned to the shop and purchased my new shorts. I didn't ...
