... to the fact that a UNESCO listed heritage forest of beech trees is between the public and Konigsstuhl. Even cyclists are not allowed in, being required to take a circuitous route around the forest. We ambled through these ancient trees on the trail to the cliff edge. With the sun filtering through the high canopy onto a carpet of freshly autumn leaves, a truely enchanting scene.

Continued on down to Klein Zicker, at the end of the peninsula. More camping grounds than holiday apartments with bike tracks everywhere. Throughout this area, came across thatched houses. Not just the occasional one, but quite frequently. Taking extra care driving due to otter signs. Happily accepted not seeing any ...

... it's required to call the police if you break down on the auto bahn at night because its quite dangerous.. ... on our return from the lighthouse. It was a success and the harbour was lined with boats! We were then invited by Bomme to visit his boat named Clair, which he built himself. It was a beautiful work of art, 25 ft, took him 5 years to build and this was a fair few years ago.
