With the weather set fair, we decided to keep the bikes for an extra day. Liz and I walked over the hill to Gross Zicker to pick up some bread for the picnic, and once the girls were up, the picnic made, and the sun tan cream on, we headed for the beach. Unfortunately a few jelly fish prevented any serious swimming, but we spent a relaxing few hours on the sand - with the mobile coffee & ice cream cart arriving just as we finished ...

... beach. After lunch we followed one of the many cycle paths around the bay to a long spit of land, the end of which you can actually see from our house - but it was a good 10 miles or so by bike. However, by ten the clouds were higher in the sky, and Liz and I decided to walk across the hills to Gross Zicker. After just a few hundred yards we were taking off our jackets, as the sun appeared amid patches of blue sky.

Our leisurely walk took us up to the look-out point, from which you can survey most of the ...

A lot of walking!

I woke up fairly early (obviously well before everyone else!), and decided to explore the headland to the south of the little harbour where we're staying. Our map showed a coastal footpath leading in a circle to another little port about 5 miles away, with a short-cut return inland back to Gager. It was a rather grey Sunday morning, but there were quite a few dog-walkers out, and we greeted each other with a short "Morgen" (excluding the dog, obviously) as ...
